I read an interesting study the other day, and then watched news services light up their opinions on it. The study wanted to know whether there was a nutritional difference between organic and non-organic produce. I just wanted to drop a line and let everyone know that the Impoverished Gourmet is ready for some online action! This afternoon will mark the first online installment of the most delicious and affordable recipes out there. A word to the wise… our goal is to show that cooking is much more fun and easy that most people think!
Now for the hard part… is it possible to be succinct enough to have a cooking column on a blog?? Stay tuned!

This one was so much fun to write! I love cooking, and know what it’s like to have an $80 grocery budget for the month. I’m not a professional cook either, lol… I just have the recipes! The vast majority of my recipes are incredibly simple, unbelievable tasty, and provide days of leftovers for less than ten bucks a meal. It doesn’t get much better than that!
The Impoverished Gourmet is a regular column in the Regina Streets Magazine, but new recipes will be posted on this website as well! I hope that you try them all out and post your feedback, good and bad. Even better, feel free to post your own favourite affordable recipes! I would love to try cooking something new, and so would our readers.
From my kitchen to yours… enjoy!
